Day with Landon...

Guess which sweet, bright eyed boy went to work with Mama this morning? Yep, that's right! Today I took Landon to 'bring your child to work day' and we had SO much fun...

Each of the kids wore proper kitchen attire and got to make their own lunch...

Battering his shrimp...

Breading his shrimp...

Tasting his fried shrimp...he LOVED it!

Taking a tour of the kitchen...

Learning how the biscuits and baked potatoes are made...

Group shot, lunch time...

Cupcakes for dessert...

After we spent time at Mama's work I took Landon for a MUCH needed haircut!

He did great as usual...

Almost done...

WOW, much better!!

After Landon's haircut we spent a few hours at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Landon was in such a good mood and had a blast. I wish I would have gotten some pictures of him playing with Grandma and Grandpa. I especially wish I would have gotten some pictures of his class 3 meltdown as we were leaving. This boy did NOT want to go home.
I had a great day with my little man. It's crazy how fast he is growing up!

LOVE you buddy!

Update on Brynne

Brynne last night...
Brynne this morning!

Luckily the Benadryl is working and Brynne is looking a lot better today. She got a great night of sleep and I think because of that she is feeling better. She is happy and back to her old self this morning.
Last night was a different story though...

Brynne fell asleep on the living room floor while playing. She was SO tired and SO miserable and she just crashed! Of course her nap on the floor only lasted for about 20 minutes, but I thought it was cute anyway!

In the bathtub last night. At this point her rash was slightly better and had disappeared from her temples and forehead...

In other news, I'm a little worried...Landon is showing signs of an unidentifiable rash on his chin. It has taken the shape of bath bubbles and appears to be white in color. Guess I'd better call the Dr. on this one...

A special THANK YOU to all of my bloggy friends for your sweet comments and concern for my baby girl. If nothing else Blogging has introduced me to some wonderful new friends and I appreciate all of your concern! It's been a bad few days but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. Here's hoping for a HEALTHY and fun weekend!

Ugh, fun times...

This morning Brynne woke up fussy and not feeling well. I went into her room and she was covered, head to toe, in this horrible rash. We had her in the Dr.'s office first thing this morning. Apparently she had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin she was taking for her ear infections. She has been taking it for 9 days now, but the rash just appeared. We have her on some Benadryl now and hopefully will see some improvement as soon as the end of the day. She is moody, irritable, tired, groggy and not feeling well!
Poor baby girl ):

15 Months Already!

This sweet beautiful girl is 15 months old now! Time is going by so fast that it is hard for me to believe that my last baby is already a very curious toddler! Today at Brynne's 15 month appt. we learned that our sweet girl remains a petite little thing. She weighs 3 lbs. less than her brother did at this age and is only in the 20th percentile.

Brynne has the sweetest personality. I can expect many random hugs throughout my day as she climbs up into my lap just for love! She is definitely all girl, but will not blink if she has to walk barefoot through the mud just to be near Landon. She ADORES her big brother and continues to form a close bond with him, as she has since day one. As they get older the fighting is happening much more often, but the sweet moments they share throughout the day almost always bring me to tears!
Brynne LOVES to eat and LOVES to sleep. She sleeps 12 full hours a night and we never hear a peep out of her. She will eat anything, anytime. Which is surprising considering she is so tiny. She shadows both Daddy and I all day long and is never more than a few feet away from Landon. She is patient (unless she is hungry) and SO sweet (unless she is tired).

She is in LOVE with animals. Anywhere we go animals fascinate her. She has really been enjoying the wild birds in our yard, and says 'Dawga" over and over whenever we see a dog. She points to everything she sees and is so excited when Daddy or I teach her a new word.

Everything Brynne does has a delicate touch. She is calm, and reserved about most things and has such feminine mannerisms. She quickly tells Mama whenever her bow slips out, and she smiles SO big each day when it is time to put on her shoes.

This sweet baby girl fits SO perfectly into our lives and so nicely balances the chaos and NOISE that comes with raising a boy! She is very laid back and nothing bothers her unless Landon takes a toy from her and then the walls of our house shake with her high pitched screaming!

Although we have had quite a few 'dramatic' moments from our little Princess, she really is a VERY easy toddler baby. She brings SO much joy to us and of course completes our little family in a way that only this playful, sweet, little girl can!
I can only hope the next 15 months go by at a snails pace! I can't believe in 18 months she will be Landon's age...almost 3!
We LOVE you baby girl!

Umm, what's that you say? How's Landon? Um, well, see for yourself...
I am on day 564 4 of puking and I CAN'T take any more!!!
Our little man has been sick off and on for the past 8 weeks! Ever since he started school he seems to always be sick. I think we are going to pull him out of school until the summer is over and then try again. I can't take much more of this...I am sad, exhausted, and DONE! I just want my hyper happy boy back...

Brynne's reaction to the ChooChoo Train...

Getting brave...

Landon would immediately stop whatever water play

Watching the train again...
Brynne giggled and had a blast playing in the water fountain...

Landon playing...

Getting used to the water...

Brynne:"I'm not gonna look at Mama's camera, Landon, are you?"
Landon: "Nope, not today!"

Can I get a 'Hell Ya' for 75 degree weather and NO WIND! Yay, Happy Friday everyone, have a great weekend! I know we will be spending lots of time outdoors taking advantage of this beautiful spring weather!

Thoughts for Thursday!

Brynne's Easter ear infection turned into a full blown viral infection. Poor girl has infections in both ears, a runny nose and sore throat and a rash that covers 90% of her body. I took her to see her Dr. yesterday and she is now on antibiotics and feeling a little better today. This is the first time she has been sick and like everything else in her life she sure does know how to work the dramatic flare!

Landon refused to go to sleep last night unless I left his light on. So I left the damn light on and he went right to sleep, go figure. Then both times he woke me up to take him potty he didn't want to go back to bed without the light on. Let me tell you how fantastic it is to get into a yelling match with your 2 year old at 3 in the morning. Especially while your husband remains oblivious to all the commotion and doesn't feel the need to EVER get up in the middle of the night with the kids. Lovely.

It's windy as hell again, and frankly I am SICK of it! I need to move and live somewhere where there is absolutely no wind. I HATE the wind. I can deal with the cold and snow. Rain, no problem. But the wind, not so much. There really is no point to it except to piss me off.

I am still not finished painting Landon's room. I am painting blue and green in a single stripe pattern on one wall. After some wonderful 'stripe painting tips' from my sweet friend Amanda I am thrilled with the way it is turning out. I ran out of blue paint though and cannot continue until I run to Home Depot. I am so looking forward to standing at the paint counter for 30 minutes like an idiot HOPING that somebody happens to be working in the paint department that day. Home Depot sucks, is always severely understaffed and it takes a freaking hour to get one quart or paint. I can't imagine needing a gallon, how long would I have to wait for that?!

I am so excited for summer to be here. I am really looking forward to the HOT weather, but not only that...I think the kids are both at ages now where we can do so much more. Last summer Brynne was only 4-8 months old and it was hard to do anything outside that didn't involve a stroller for her to ride in. We already have made camping reservations near Yosemite for August, and are hopefully going to plan a trip to Florida to visit Travis' parents. I can't wait to take the kids to the beach and the zoo. YAY for April being halfway over already!

In less than 3 months Landon will be 3 years old! How the heck did that happen? Time is flying by and I am watching it go with my mouth wide open in shock! I can't believe that he is 3 already. Geesh, kinda makes me sad! Better start planning his birthday party.

Work has been slowing down a lot lately. I have been working more days a week, but fewer hours each day. This economy is not so good for a restaurant whose main menu item tends to be lobster! On a positive note I am grateful for the shorter shifts. It's nice to be home before 7p most days, so that I can give the kids their baths and put them to bed. It's also nice for me to give Travis that break, seeing as how he sleeps through the night, every night can get a little tired of the kids and their 'pre-bed' routine!

Only one more day until the weekend!! Happy Thursday everyone (:

DAT Bear Mama!!!

I guess Landon had a dream last night. He woke Travis and I this morning babbling about wanting to see 'Dat bear.' He was in our master bathroom pointing up to the skylight. He asked over and over to see 'Dat bear, dat's flying up dare.' I kept telling him that there was no bear. It was a story that was in his head while he was sleeping.
Landon: "Mama I see dat bear dat's waaay up dare." pointing to the skylight.
Mama: "What bear Landon? There is no bear up there."
Landon: "Dat bear right dare. Flying up dare, waaaay up high Mama. Dat bear!" pointing still
Mama: "Landon there is NO bear up there. You had a dream. There was a story in your head while you were sleeping."
Landon: (clearly sick of trying to explain it to Mama): "DADA, I see DAT BEAR, way up dare."
Dada: "Where buddy? Show daddy the bear."
Landon: "Right dare Dada!!!" Pointing up still
Dada and Mama: "There is NO bear Landon!!"
So, how do you explain a dream to a 2 1/2 year old. LOL, it was pretty funny the first few minutes. But Landon has been up for an hour and a half now and he is still asking to see 'Dat bear, waaay up dare."

Easter Fun

When Travis was younger his parents hid his Easter basket every year. He wanted to carry on the tradition for our 2 kids. Here are some pictures of the basket hunt...
Good hiding spot right?...
Nope, not in the blanket cabinet...

Nope, not under the side table...

Nope, not in the dryer...
(Ahem, excuse the mess...Sunday is laundry day)

Nope, not in Landon's dresser...

Nope, not in Brynne's toy box...

Nope, not in the bathroom sink, getting warmer though...

Nope, not in the bathroom cabinet...

Nope, not in that drawer...

Nope, not in that drawer either Brynne. Landon's getting hotter though!!

There they are!! WOW!

Landon was SO excited to see what the 'Mister Bunny' had left behind!

Pretty (sick) girl couldn't wait to dig right in...

She LOVED her new toothbrush...

Making her way to the carpet to search through her basket...

Yummy! Goldfish for Brynna, and Peeps who the hell eats those nasty things anyway? for Landon in the background!

Rockin' her new sunglasses...

I'm not going to post the Easter Egg Hunt pictures because Travis is in the middle of landscaping our backyard. There is far too much dirt, and crap laying around, and I already posted a picture of my messy laundry room. Geesh, getting a little personal aren't ya?
