My future daughter-in-law will thank me!

I should probably be nominated for "Mother of the Year."
Am I right ladies??

I just hope he remembers all that this important lesson taught him!

Um what?

I was sweeping off the front porch just now and behind me Landon said
"Mama, dis BIIIIG wood between my legs!"
Um what? I looked over and he was sitting on top of a piece of firewood. Had to stop and laugh...and of course document that on the blog for future embarrassment!

Only 390 days until he is 4!

Some days Landon and I are both lucky to make it through. The last few days have been nothing if not challenging. Tuesday morning Landon was too quiet, so I know the little twirp was up to no good. I found him on the back patio hiding under the table painting his nails with nail polish he had obviously stolen out of my room with the up most sneakiness! As I yelled "LANDON, what are you DOING!!?" he stood up quickly, trying to screw the lid back on the polish and started blowing all over his nails. I had to hide my laughter for that move. I guess he has seen me blow on my nails to dry them quickly, and it was funny to me that in the middle of being yelled at he had a moment of clarity in which he knew enough to blow on his nails. Hmmm. Anyway he started talking back right away and would not give me the polish. So I spanked him right there on the patio! (That's right readers I spank my 3 year old, don't like it? Stop reading.) As I spanked him the nail polish bottle went flying out of his hands and landed on the patio, lid flying off. There is now dried nail polish all over our concrete, his crocs that he was wearing, and his newish jeans. LOVELY. Thank goodness he had the sense to paint his nails with the clear nail polish! I should consider myself lucky!
Then yesterday morning I had to run to the bank and grocery store. Usually a morning full of errands is uneventful and pleasant because both the kids like to be out and about. The free cookie from the bakery at the grocery store doesn't hurt either. Anyway it was 50 degrees and windy here yesterday. I put jackets on the kids and got my purse and was ready to go. I turned around to open the front door and Landon had pulled off his jacket and was running through the living room. I shut the front door and told Landon to put his jacket back on so we could go . He stopped running, stood tall and YELLED at me saying
"I.NO.WANNA.WEAR.MY.JACKET.MAMA!!"
I said "You have to wear your jacket, it is freezing out." He said
"I.NO.LIKE.MY.JACKET. NOOOOO!"
I set my purse down and went over to were Landon was standing, I got down to his level and explained to him that Brynne doesn't like wearing her jacket either, but she is. Mama doesn't like wearing her jacket either but I was. He didn't care. He was crying and mad by this time. I grabbed his jacket off the floor and wrestled him into it. It took all the patience I had to get him out the door and into the car without just putting him to bed for the day! He cried, and screamed, and yelled, and threw things in the car. I slammed on the brakes twice, threatened to pull over once and told him he was NOT getting a cookie at the store. Nothing worked, it was a class A meltdown and I could do nothing to make him stop. 10 LONG car ride minutes later we got to the bank and Landon saw the drive thru teller and was interested, this distracted him enough to break him out of his meltdown.
The changes I have seen in him over the past week or so are changes that this Mama is not excited about! It is looking like 3 may actually be worse than 2. I have been a very lucky Mama thus far and neither of my kids have really had any behavior issues. They usually listen really well and have had no public meltdowns...yet! But Landon definitely knows what he wants and he has the patience and attention span of his Daddy. He wants things right away and doesn't want to hear why he can't have things his way! It's looking like I'm going to have a looooong summer with this boy! Hmmm, that makes me wonder...at what age can they start summer camp?

Pics from Disneyland

I took the kids to Disneyland yesterday afternoon/evening for some fun! It was my first time taking them without Daddy. I went with my good friend Adrianne and a few of my mom friends and their kids from a playgroup I am part of.
The weather was perfect, again! How do we keep getting so lucky? Both the kids were very well behaved and had SO much fun. I was very thankful to have Adrianne's help though, and don't think I will be taking the kids by myself anytime soon! Just getting the two kids and the double stroller on and off the tram was a chore!
Landon, patiently waiting for the parade, (that's not really a parade!)~
What Mama? You want me to pose?~

OK!!!~

Such a silly boy! What's he so excited about? Seeing Mickey in the parade? Nope! Seeing Goofy in the parade? Nope! Seeing the balloons and dancing and singing? Nope! He was SOOOO excited to see....Mary Poppins! LOL, that's right! This boy loves him some Mary Poppins! He watches the movie every day and always HAS to see the parade because Mary Poppins rides high atop one of the floats. Too funny!~

Friends Always! These three have known each other since they were 8ish months old! Almost 3 now and still good buddies! Logan, Hannah and Landon waiting for the parade!~

Brynne waiting for the parade to start~

Landon climbing (is he ever NOT climbing?)~

Such a silly little guy!~

One of Landon's best pictures ever! Sure shows his personality! LOVE him!~

Landon, Brynne and Logan enjoying their lollipops!~

Little girls first lollipop!
And what a BAD idea! She made a huge mess and I threw it away after a few minutes!~

Yummy!~

LOVE this messy face!~

Last pic of the night. Brynne was exhausted and fell asleep before the fireworks even started. Once they did though, she was wide awake and LOVED the fireworks! I was really surprised that both kids loved the fireworks show and pointed to the sky and laughed and oohed and awed! It was the first fireworks show for both of them, and they really liked it!

We had a GREAT time, as usual! I keep waiting for my *Disney Luck* to run out. So far, these past few weeks we have had perfect weather and no lines! SO fun, and such great memories for my precious babies!

Landon's First Real Movie!

Saturday my wonderful mom watched Brynne so my dad and I could take Landon to see his very first movie at the theater! Landon had no idea what the movies were and I had no idea how to explain it to him. We went to see UP, the new animated Disney Pixar movie. It was really cute and I recommend it to anyone. Landon sat through the whole thing, and did very well. He liked the movie and had a lot of questions, but he was so well behaved!
He was most excited to drink an ICEE and eat his 'pawcorn.'
My dad and I had planned on leaving even 10 minutes into the movie if Landon didn't do well. We were pleasantly surprised and saw the whole thing. There was one incident I should mention...

about halfway through the movie Landon was drinking my small diet coke (which cost a nice $4.25) and he took the lid off and dumped the entire cup over his head, ice and all. Luckily I only had about 1/2 of it left, BUT...he did this while sitting on my lap and my pants were soaked. I have no idea why he did it, and all I could do was laugh. After all he is only 2...for one more month!

I have a feeling that PopPop will always be Landon's movie partner. My dad LOVES movies and always has. I get my love of movies from him and hope to pass that on to both my children.
We had SO much fun, and Landon is still talking about the 'BIIIIIIG TV Place.' Thanks PopPop for a wonderful first movie experience for Landon, and a memory I know he will always have. We LOVE you!

It's Friday Baby!

I am SOOOO glad it is Friday! This week went by slowly for me , and I am thrilled to have nothing to do for the next 2 days!
What's up with this weather? 100 degrees last week...thunder, lightening, and 55 degrees this week? California is definitely a bi-polar state!
Daddy started his new job with *Big Beer Company USA* Thursday. The first few days he is training on the computers and learning the system. Next week he will be doing more hands on training and learning out in 'the field.' So far, so good, he seems to like it and will no doubt be very good at what he is doing! YAY Daddy, we are so excited for you!
Landon's room is finally finished! Painting done, wall decals done, decorating done. I will take pictures this weekend to post. It turned out really cute, now if he would just keep it clean..grrrr!
Brynne has learned that she can reach the light switch from her crib if she stands on her tip-toes and reaches as far as she possibly can. She spends a lot of time before and after her nap turning the light on, then off, then on again. It is so cute and makes me smile every time I hear the switch click. I'm going to have to move her crib down the wall further, away from the switch. but for now it is SO cute!
The kids have been doing great. Neither of them have been sick once since we pulled Landon out of pre-school! Mission accomplished! We have been doing a lot of fun things, and spending a lot of time outside. They are getting along great and Landon's terrible 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's two's have not been so bad lately. His listening is improving and he is such a BIG help with Brynne. Sometimes, when he doesn't know I am listening, I will hear him say to her "What's wrong Brynnie, you ok?" or "Do it like dis Brynnie, watch Yandon, do dis!" when he is explaining something to her. He has such a sweet, big heart and LOVES his sister SO much!
I am really excited for the weekend! We don't have any concrete plans yet, and I am excited to just relax! I can't think of a more perfect way to kick off this weekend, than with a trip to Target! I'm heading there in a few minutes with the kids, to pick up a few things. Then it's back home to do laundry and give the kids their naps.
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend! Happy Friday!
