Landon update...
Today Landon had his second day of school. We have enrolled him in class Tues. and Thurs. for 3 hours in the mornings. He was really excited to go to school and has no problems walking into his class and putting away his backpack. His problem starts when Mama is about to leave. I know it is totally normal, and I don't worry about it too much, but it breaks my heart to see him cry as I walk out the door. His teacher told me today that Landon is one of the best behaved kids she has had in her class. I told her to give him a few weeks....LOL. Anyway Travis commented today on how different Brynne is while Landon is at school. She plays quietly and contently and we never hear a peep out of her. The house is so quiet while Landon is gone, and I think Brynne enjoys being able to play with whatever she wants without interruption!
I have not had much to blog about lately. Things have been busy, I have been working more than usual so that leaves me little time for the computer. My parents were kind enough to watch both the kids on Sunday so Travis and I could have a date day. We saw a movie (Gran Torino, with Clint Eastwood...EXCELLENT!) and had lunch at one of our favorite places. We saw a friend and then did a little shopping also, it was a great day! I guess that is all for now...be back in a few days with something witty and interesting, no doubt!

Landon starts school!
Heading out the door, this is where Mama started to get a little sad...
"C'mon Mama"
He wasn't nervous at all when we got there. He walked right in and didn't waste anytime looking around and checking out the other kids. I made sure to show him right away where the potty is, I have been really worried about possible accidents at school. Here he is picking his cubby for his lunchbox and backpack...
He headed right to the train table and got down to business...
It was a lot harder than I expected and I had a pretty good meltdown of my own in the car. I called Travis, no answer. I called Amy, my sister, no answer..I then called my mom, no answer. So I gave up. It took me a good ten minutes to calm down, LOL, and then Brynne and I went grocery shopping.
I know that every mom goes through the same emotions and heartache that I am feeling today. I am just so worried to leave my BABY boy with his teachers
Little Miss Brynna really misses Landon. I took her to the grocery store and she did fine and had a good time with Mama. But as soon as we got home she wandered around the house looking for her brother. I watched her go into his room 4 times in the last 10 minutes. Luckily he will be done at 11:30 and Brynne will once again have her favorite playmate back!

Just Stuff...
Landon sounds like a frog. Obviously he has caught some sort of bug. He is active and seems to feel fine, but his voice is all broken and scratchy. It's very funny sounding and I have been laughing at him all day.
It snowed again two nights ago and off and on all day yesterday. We only have a few inches of snow and the roads are thankfully pretty clear. It is absolutely FREEZING though, at least the sun is out today!
One week from today Landon will start school. 2 days a week, 3 hours each day. I have mixed emotions about our decision to start him in school so early, but I know it will be great for him to have the social interaction. I know he will learn so much and Brynne will likely benefit from the alone time she and I will have now. There will be definite tears shed from this Mama though...expect a blog about that next week!
Brynne is climbing on everything these days. The end tables, the fireplace, the various toys strewn about the house, etc. It is adorable and frightening all at the same time. She is such a sweet girl with a huge sense of adventure.
I am in love with the movie Mama Mia! I watched it twice just yesterday. It's cute, lighthearted, and has its funny moments. The music is wonderful! There is just something about people dancing in unison and singing lovely music at the top of their lungs that makes my heart happy. Am I a nerd? Yep, think so...
Travis and I have been lucky enough to have 2 whole days to ourselves just in the past 3 days! Spending time together without the kids has been really nice. It's always so exciting when we drive away for an afternoon by ourselves, but usually within an hour we are really missing the kids. I always feel like a better mom when I get back to them. I can't get enough hugs and kisses and the annoying things they do are always a little less annoying!
I can't stop cleaning lately. I have always loved cleaning and do so whenever I am bored, stressed, or feeling active. It must be the weather...
About 2 weeks ago Travis finished installing our audio speakers throughout the house. I don't even watch TV anymore during the day. I get up in the morning and turn the satellite radio on, crank the volume and the kids and I spend the day with the music playing. It is so nice, and Landon is beginning to recognize certain songs and will dance around the living room like a crazy boy when his favorites come on. This week his favorite is Cold Play...what can I say? The boy has good taste!
I am so excited for Valentines Day! Not because of the Holiday itself, but because it is the perfect excuse for me to bake and decorate cookies and cupcakes. Because what's a Holiday without color coordinated sweets and what's life without cupcakes right?
I cannot wait for spring! Easter is my favorite Holiday (followed closely by the 4th of July) and I am so excited because both Landon and Brynne are at such a fun age for Easter baskets and the Easter Bunny. I love everything about spring! The crisp air, the blooming trees and flowers, the days begin to stay light longer, and all of the cute new clothes! Goodbye sweatshirts and Jackets!
Travis and I had such a good time watching the Grammy's together this year. I thought it was one of the best I have ever seen. The performances were great and the presentations were short and sweet! I LOVE awards shows, and I LOVE them even more now that I can record them on the DVR and watch them later. Seriously, each commercial break was 5-7 minutes long! It felt so good to fast forward though all that crap!
I want to get a cat. I am thinking that I will wait until April, when it starts to warm up and then buy a kitten and keep it as an outdoor pet. I am not a huge cat person, but we live in the country (CA country...not Kansas country) and I am liking the idea of having a pet that helps out with critter control!
I should also mention that I LOVE birds. I love the wild birds that feed in our yard. I have bird knick knacks, bird stationary, bird cookie cutters, etc. Cats and birds do not mix...not too sure what to do about this one. Maybe a kitty collar with a bell? Do those even work? Note to self: Ask Amy, the most 'cat person' I know if those collars work...
I have been functioning all week on an average of 5 hours of sleep a night! I am happy to report that Landon and Brynne both seem to have moved past the 'wake up at least once a night' stage. We have been busy recently and there has just been so much good TV on lately! So what's 5 hours of sleep if I can squeeze in a new episode of The Bachelor or The Real Housewives right?
Travis has been doing a great job lately with little projects around the house. Just the past week he has cleaned up the entire front yard raking and leveling the dirt, installed a new faucet on the kitchen sink, cleaned and mopped the garage, bought indoor plants for the house, pruned the fruit trees, and has started formulating a plan in his head to remove our master sliding door and replace it with a new window! Exciting right? Things have been coming right along...it will be a busy summer for us around here!
I am having a hard time with Brynne's hair lately. It seems to be growing quickly and she is in that stage right between 'desperately needing a haircut' and 'almost long enough to not need a haircut.' If she was a boy she would have already had a haircut or two! She looks like she is rockin' a mullet so, hopefully it continues to grow quickly. I can't wait for pigtails!!
That's all for now...just stuff.

Section 229, Row F, Seat 18
Dear most annoying lady EVER,
What the hell is wrong with you? Last night I sat next to you from 7pm to 10:20pm and the only time you stopped bouncing your leg was when you or one of your 5 rude ass children were exiting the isle to use the bathroom or annoy me get snacks. I am usually a huge fan of any professional sporting event and although the stadium seating can be crowded and uncomfortable I have been known to sit in said seating for hours at a time and never udder a single complaint. NOT THIS TIME! I can't even tell you who won the race because the small 3 hour earthquake I sat through, thanks to your annoying habit, had me so distracted I could not even concentrate on the riders. Lay off the prescription meds, the caffeine, the diet pills..whatever it is that is making you bounce your leg uncontrollably for 3 hours straight! I hope you realize that it took every inch of patience and kindness in me to not bitch slap you and leave. 30 minutes after you sat next to me I began to feel nauseous. 45 minutes after you sat next to me I wondered if you were always so annoying, or was this a special occasion? An hour after you sat next to me I was starting to get mad! 30 minutes after that, leg still bouncing, I tried to give you all the signs that a person who is annoyed gives...loud sighs, shifting in my seat, dirty looks cast your way. You noticed NONE of them, or if you did you didn't care. The leg bouncing continued. But that's fine because 2 hours into the show I filmed your ass doing the annoying leg bounce for my blog. Congrats annoying, leg bouncing lady...you are now famous! Lady, you SUCK! Next time stay home!
Sincerely,
His Wife~Their Mama
And here for you, my faithful followers, is the video that I took after sitting next to this lady for 2 and a half hours-because let's be honest...I do it all for you!
Feel sorry for me yet? If not, watch...
Travis loves dirt bikes, and rides as often as he can. Every year when the professional riders come to town for Supercross we go, and watch...all day! It is always so much fun. Not this time. Thanks to Auntie Amy and Auntie Clair for staying with the kids for us. At least the kids had a BLAST!

Look Ma...No training wheels!!
Our big boy is officially riding a big boy bike!! Travis took the training wheels off last week, and after a few spills Landon has the hang of it! The weather has been awful the last few days so he is practicing with loops throughout the house.
*And as a side note to Grandma and Grandpa...Yes, I am aware that in this video Landon is not wearing either his shoes or his helmet. We do own both for him, but this was a spontaneous moment in which I ran to grab the camera.* Thank you for understanding (;
Now, enjoy the video...

Disney Day!
Such a beauty, even if I do say so myself...
Daddy took Landon on a tree climbing adventure and he LOVED it...
Just look at those huge smiles on my happy boys...
Pirates of the Caribbean...
Chillin' with Dad watching the train...
My LOVES...
Patiently waiting their turn...
Daddy and sweet girl on the train ride (she was barely awake at this point)...
Ya, he's kind of a big deal around here...
Brynne's first carousel ride (a momentous event in any princess' life!)...
Daddy and the kids. I LOVE this picture...
Landon had the most fun in Toon Town. He ran from building to building and car to car. I tried to keep up and just kept my camera handy.
He LOVED the fake doors and especially the fake doorbells!...
Talking up a storm about the little offices and houses and why he couldn't get in through the doors...
Maybe this one will work...
So excited to 'drive' the cars...
Trying to stop the hose from 'leaking'...
Landon and Brynne both LOVED the children's play area. I found that to be funny because we have a similar toy structure at our local mall. I can assure you we didn't drive over and hour away and pay $70 for him to play on 'mall toys!'
Brynne LOVED crawling through the toys and exploring...
Such a curious girl. She will go anywhere Landon does and try anything he tries...
Mickey and the Staley's! Landon liked seeing Mickey and even gave him knuckles! (those of you who know Landon will appreciate that!)...
'L' for Landon!!...
Daddy took Landon's Lollipop, LOL...
Time to go home...
Poor Landon fell asleep immediately in the car...
We had the BEST time at Disneyland and even have tickets to return within 30 days! I am already SO excited to take the kids back. I love that Landon is at an age now where everything amazes him and requires an explanation. He was excited over so many things today, the trains especially! This boy is ALL BOY and loves anything that 'goes' or makes noise. He liked the boat rides, the train rides, and pretending to drive the cars in Toon Town. I know that the memories he has of Disneyland will be some of the best memories he has once he is older. I have so many great memories of Disneyland, and spending time there with my kids is one of the best memories this Mama will have!
