Uh Oh...

A direct quote from Landon, while visiting my sisters house.

"Auntie, watch this, oh shit oh dammit, haha."

A direct quote from Mama (and Auntie) immediately after he said those words.

"LOL, LOL, LOL."

That's right, my almost 3 year old used 2 curse words in one sentence and all I could do was laugh. I'm a horrible mother!

The 2nd or 3rd time he repeated it I got down on my knees, looked him in the eye and gave him a serious warning about "Daddy's words, NOT Landon's words!"

I think it's time we give Sunday school another try...

Monday Rambling

Travis and I took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese's yesterday morning and met my parents for some play time. I didn't take any pictures on my camera, and Grandma and Grandpa have yet to email me theirs (Geesh, how rude huh?). We had a fun time at Chuck E. Cheese and afterwards we went to Toys R Us. As you all know Landon is turning 3 next week. He got a 'birthday card' in the mail from Geoffrey (the Toys R Us giraffe mascot) with a $3 gift card to spend on anything in the store. This was SO exciting for Landon and he couldn't wait to spend his money. He picked out a green tractor truck and Travis and I got him a scooter made for small children. Landon somehow figured out how to ride the scooter immediately with little instruction from dad. Besides a small, and painful, incident in which Landon ran into the back of Grandmas ankle he got the hang of it rather quickly! Since we got home last night, with the scooter, Landon has not been away from that toy. It amazes me how athletic he is, and how easily physical activity comes to him. Travis is the same way and is good at everything the first time he tries it. Our boy is definitely an athlete. I couldn't believe that Toys R Us sent Landon a gift card for his birthday. Travis says it worked!! We went in specifically to spend a free $3 gift card and ended up spending $50! Nice move Toys R Us!

Another Day of Play

Just some pictures from our trip to the lake today. The weather was perfect, and the kids had SO much fun! HAPPY FRIDAY everyone!!~

Thoughts for Thursday!

I can't believe the weekend is almost here again! We have been busy these past few days, mostly wiping runny noses and doing lots of cleaning. The kids and I have had a horrible cold all week and the housework was being neglected. After a great morning I have gotten so much done. I love when I get all of my errands, cleaning, chores and projects done before the kids afternoon nap. It's always nice to have quiet time while they rest! The kids and I are falling comfortably back into our old while daddy is at work all day routine. We loved having daddy home for a few weeks but it's nice to have my normal morning routine back into full swing. Daddy loves his new job and is doing very well with it so far. His schedule keeps him busier than that at his last job so I rarely hear from him during the day, which is weird different for us. We used to talk off and on throughout the day, but not anymore! We are definitely missing Daddy while he is at work!

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Landon will be 3 in just 2 weeks! July 6th is his actual birthday and we will celebrate that night with our small family with dinner and cake, and a birthday party at the lake for friends and family the following weekend. He is ringing in this 'new year' with a bang, and has definitely been a handful lately. There have been numerous times in the last few weeks where I feel like I must be such a bad mom. But after talking with other moms and friends I am beginning to realize that the life of a 3 year old is an interesting, and stubborn one! He is so opinionated, which can be funny and frustrating at the same time. He talks back more than a teenager does and watches everything we do now. He is more interested in the things I do all day long and is never without a question! He is growing up so fast and I HATE it! I love him and want him to grow up to be a healthy, happy, well adjusted boy...I just wish he wouldn't do it so fast.

Brynne is doing better today. I had her in the pediatricians office yesterday morning for another bad rash. Her Dr. is wonderful and never makes me feel stupid with all of my questions. He said her rash is a reaction to something viral, not contagious, and she should be fine in a few days. He gave me some suggestions on lotions and soaps that we should be using for Brynne also, seems she has sensitive skin like her Mama! Better my sensitive skin than my thighs, LOL! She too seems to be growing up SO fast! She is talking more than ever and is into all things Disney right now. She wants to watch Mikey Mouse Clubhouse during the day and 'sings' and 'dances' to all the little songs. She loves to eat and sleeps 12 hours a night still, thank God! She mimics everything Landon does and is the sweetest girl ever! I still get a lot of unexpected hugs and kisses all day, which will forever melt my heart! I am such a blessed Mama, and am so thankful that my kids are healthy and happy (most of the time!).

We don't have any plans this weekend so far, and that's nice for a change! Seems lately we have been go, go, go! It will probably do us all some good to stick around the house and rest up for a few days. Then back to normal go, go, go next week!

"Hello, Kiddie Kandids, this is Mrs. Staley I am calling to cancel our Friday morning picture appt. Thanks, have a good day!" Guess our pictures will have to wait, blah.

So, for the second time in a week Landon has taken the scissors to Brynne's hair. This time it ended up way worse than the time before and Mama cried. I am SO mad about it. Brynne was bald for the first half of her life and the fact that her hair is finally growing longer is a HUGE deal to this bow buying Mama! I know it is just hair, and it will grow back, but it is SO annoying. I just have to say that both of Brynne's recent haircuts have happened on dad's watch. Maybe it's time I hire a nanny.

...and yes, I will try and post pictures later, once I dry my eyes, LOL!

Park Play

The kids and I are getting over a nasty cold and we have spent a lot of time in the house the past week. I took them to the park this morning to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. We had a great time, lots of adventures, and LOTS of pictures...as usual!

I didn't know if Landon would ever make it to the toys. He was very interested in the big kids playing basketball! He watched them for a long time~

LOL, all the big kids playing basketball had a good laugh at this! Landon HAD to hang on the big monkey bars. I told him to hold on tight and then I ran back, took a picture, and ran back to him to catch him as he let go!~

Just documenting

Landon and Brynne had hot dogs for lunch out on the back patio. A few minutes ago I gave them each a Popsicle and then started refilling their water table. I glanced down and saw a hot dog laying on the patio.

So I said "Landon is this your hot dog?"

He said, "Yep, I'm full."

I said "Well give me your Popsicle then since you are full."

He said "No mom, my hot dog is full, my 'sicle is NOT full."

Oh, right.

Could it be? Is summer really here this time?

The kids are playing on the back patio with their water table, undoubtedly making a muddy wet mess that Daddy will be thrilled with when he gets home from work. It is 75 out and not windy at all! I am enjoying Brynne's squeals of delight and Landon's bossy orders for his sister. "Brynnie, no plash me!" "Brynnie no touch dat, dat is MINE!" She continues to laugh and screech with happiness. I've got afternoon errands to run and grocery shopping to do. I'm obviously putting all that off so that we may enjoy this beautiful day! WOW, 2 days in a row of wonderful summer like weather...Dare I say, summer is here!

Wonderful Wednesday!
